The New Site function will help you build your website quickly by creating a set of pages in your chosen template set, all linked together and ready to edit with your own content. The New Site tool is simple to use and requires just a few entries. Before using the New Site tool, you need to consider how many pages you need as well as their titles. You can add and remove pages later if neccessary.
There are 3 main stages to using the New Site creator.
Stage 1: Choose a template set.
Click on template set preview to see the full range of templates available to you. Click on one of the template sets to select it. The template preview and the webpage thumbnails will change to the selected style.
Stage 2: Below this are the individual pages that will make up your site. Each page template is accompanied with a name box where you need to enter the names of your webpages. This will form the label on the navigation button bar and will also be the filename. Delete the page names and leave it blank if you do not want to create that page. Click on the layout preview thumbnail to bring up a selection box where you can change your choice of template layout. The first webpage will always be named home. 350pages will attempt to build a navigation button bar for your website on each page. Where this isn't possible, the first graphic on the page will be linked to the next page in the series.
Stage 3: There are some optional settings.
Details:
In the folder box, you can enter the name of a folder that you wish to be created in your File Manager to contain these webpages. If you leave this blank, the webpages will be created and placed in the root folder - the top level of your File Manager. In the title box, you can enter the title of your site which will appear as the header on each page. This would typically be the name of your company or website subject. It will also appear on the title bar of your browser on every page. You an enter a subtitle (second line of heading) if your chosen page layout has a space for one.
Colors:
You can select the theme color for your website. Users of the full version 350pages can also customise the individual elements of the template. When you select a theme color all of the thumbnail layouts will change to reflect the new color.
When you are happy with the set-up of your website, click on the Create My Site button. You will then see a list of your new webpages. Click on any page name to preview it or on the edit button next to the page name to edit that page Or click to go to your File Manager to see your webpages or upload your images.
