The Gallery Editor enables you to easily create a photo gallery on your webpage. This is perfect if you are looking to present a personal photo album or many images for an e-shop. If you have a single image, you should consider using the Framed Image Editor, read more here

Click to zoom After selecting to add a Gallery, you will be presented with the Gallery editor. The Images tab of this editor will show you a list of all the photos you have added, the order they will be presented and a number of other options. The Settings tab enables you to customize the features for your personal look and style of your gallery.

The first step is to add some images. These must have been previously uploaded into your File Manager, see how to upload your files here. Click on the Add button to be taken into the Selection Box. Select the photos or graphics that you require and then click the Use button.

With photos added, you can now add the captions and use the controls to move the photos up or down in the chain or delete them.

Columns:

The drop down menu offers you a choice of how many columns you want in your gallery between 1 and 5.

Thumbnail Size:

A thumbnail is a small image on your webpage that opens up a much larger image when your visitor clicks on it. When your visitors see the larger image they can select a forward or back button or auto-forward to browse through all the images on your webpage as a slideshow. The drop down menu sets the size of the thumbnail: Small is 150 pixels, Medium is 200 pixels, Large is 250 pixels and X-large is 300 pixels (the height of each image will scale accordingly).

Image Type:

This is a choice between Standard Images and Framed Images. Framed Images will add your caption under your image and offer the following options to frame your pictures:

Vary Canvas Sizes:: If you have images of different sizes in your gallery, this option will set the frames to be an equal size, taking the settings of the largest image. With the option turned on, the frames will will vary around the images to the specified canvas margin settings. You can see examples here.
Canvas Color:: Adds a canvas around each of the images and captions to give the effect of mounted images.
Canvas Margin:: The width of the canvas around the image and caption.
Text Color:: The color of the caption text.
Frame Color:: This adds a single line frame around the entire canvas.
Frame Style:: Choose from a range of frame styles. This will surround the image, caption and canvas.
Frame Size:: Sets the size of the outer frame from a choice of Small, Medium and Large. This setting does not affect the canvas size.

If you are happy with your gallery settings, click on the Save button, or click the cancel button to abort the process and be taken back to the webpage editor.

Tip

You can edit the images in your gallery separately to the gallery by clicking on the image. This will open up the Framed Image Editor, and allow you to make changes to the selected image. If you make and save changes here, this will change the presentation of this image as it will no longer be part of the gallery. To resolve this, simply edit the gallery and make a change to the image's caption to reset the image to its gallery default.
