Color Picker
The Color Picker allows you to make changes to the color of your graphics in a number of varied ways.
Before accessing the color picker itself, you have the opportunity to enter your own RGB or hexadecimal code. These codes are numerical values that correspond to a particular color. They are mostly for advanced users who know exactly what color they want and have the code for it. There are millions of different possibilities using these codes. You can also enter a color name into this box - a list of all recognised colors can be found here.
By clicking on the small coloured box next to the hexadecimal box, you will bring up the color picker. The top of the picker is reserved for a suggested set of colors. These are colors that match or compliment the colors of your other existing graphics and template. If you do not like the look of any of these colors, you are free to use the spectrum directly below. Click anywhere inside the color spectrum to set that color for your graphic.
The bar below will show the currently selected color (and will act as a preview if the pointer is placed over a color in the spectrum) - there are also a number of options here to make minor adjustments to a color. The list of these is below.
The first block of six is as follows and runs in order from the top left to the bottom right:
R: Will gradually add red to the color with every click
G: Will gradually add green to the color with every click
B: Will gradually add blue to the color with every click
C: Will gradually add cyan to the color with every click
M: Will gradually add magenta to the color with every click
Y: Will gradually add yellow into the color with every click
The second block of six is as follows, and runs in order from left to right, with the upper button increasing the value and the lower button decreasing the value.
S+/-: Changes the saturation of the color
V+/-: Changes the brightness (value) of the color
H+/-: Changes the scale of the hue in the color
To the left of these options are two options that you can click on to change the color back to the previous or to the original. The Undo button will change the color back to the previous change you made and the Reset button will reset the color to the initial color before you started editing.
Click the save button to confirm your changes, or the cancel button to leave the picker without making any changes.
