Basic Uploader

You need to upload files from your computer to your File Manager so that they can be used on your webpages. There are two versions of the uploader available - the Java uploader and the non-java uploader. This help is for the non-Java uploader. For more information on the Java Uploader, please click here

We recommend you use this Uploader when you have a small number of files to upload or wish to upload your files as quickly as possible. You can upload up to 6 files at a time (12 if you click the More button in the Uploader) from the Upload window. Click on the Browse button, and find the file on your computer from the window that appears. You can then enter your descriptive tags (separated by a comma, for example "australia,photos") next to the browse box for that file. Repeat for all of the files you wish to Upload, and then click on the Upload button. The files will then appear in your File Manager. If your files are large then it may take a few minutes.

Upon upload your images will be resized to 600 pixels wide for your ease of working with them when creating your webpages. Many modern digital cameras take photos at huge resolutions and with huge filesizes that would not be suitable for display on a webpage. If you wish to have the image at its original size, you can edit the photo in the photo editor, and use the size tool to reset it back to its original size. Click cancel if you do not wish to upload any files.
