RSS News Feed

350 Pages Help logo
RSS news feeds (Really Simple Syndication) are used to publish frequently updated content - such as news or blog entries. RSS feeds are offered by nearly every major and many minor content providers, so if you want a specific series of news articles to display on your page, or want to display a blog you have published elsewhere, you can achieve this through RSS.

The editing options for an RSS feed are as follows:

Address
Find and enter the web address (URL)of the RSS feed into the box. In most cases you can simply enter the main website URL, although you may find that with some websites, you'll need to find a specific page with the feed. To simplify this, type the name of the website you want to use followed by RSS into google, for example, "350 RSS").
Articles
Enter the maximum number of news articles from the feed that you would like to show on your page, or leave it blank to show them all.
Images
Check this box to include images, videos, and similar content from the news feed on your page. With media heavy feeds, you may find that leaving this checked may cause unwanted issues with the 350pages editor.

Tip

If you want to change the text color of your RSS feed, you can do this by hovering over the feed in the editor and clicking on the Object Properties button in the editor bar. Please note that although you can set the color in IE6/7, it will not display in these two browsers due to technical limitations. In addition, anything that sets the text color itself (including some RSS feeds) will override this setting.
