Presentation Editor

You can create a web based slideshow presentation that will automatically run on your display screen, or create it so that your website viewers can select each screen with the forward or back arrow keys on their keyboard. This is the perfect alternative to a Powerpoint presentation as you can create your pages in the style of your website, placing your content wherever you wish on the page, as well as including customisable graphics – something that is very difficult and time consuming to do in Microsoft Powerpoint.

In the File Manager, clicking on the Presentation button will open the Presentation editor. Check the pages you want to add to the presentation in the File Manager, then when you click on the Presentation button, these pages will automatically be added to the editor.

In the Presentation editor, you have the following options:

Delay: You can set a number in seconds as to when the next page will display. You can also leave this box blank so that the pages will not automatically change. When viewing any page in the presentation you can use the left and right arrow keys to move between the pages.
Repeat: Checking this means the presentation will repeat from the start once it reaches the last page. Leaving this unchecked means the presentation will not repeat.
Publish Now: Checking this will publish your pages upon clicking "Create Presentation". As the Presentation editor makes changes to your pages, they need to be published before the presentation features work on your pages.

The next set of options allow you to rearrange, add and delete the pages in your presentation:

Create Presentation will add the presentation features to your pages. You will need check the Publish Now box, or publish your pages individually to ensure they have the presentation property.

The Presentation editor does not create a Presentation object - it changes the properties of the existing pages. Therefore, if you wish to have a standalone presentation of some of your website pages, it is advised that you copy the pages into another folder and use them to create your presentation. You can see a video on folder management here.

You can also set up your presentation for individual pages in the Page Editor, by clicking on the Presentation tab in the Page Properties section. Here, you can set the next page and previous page, as well as the individual delay for that page. This is ideal if you want to add or remove a page at a later date, or if you want to change the delay on just one page.
