New Folder

Creates a new folder within your File Manager. Storing your files in different folders will help in the organisation of your files. You will be able to find your files much easier. For example, you could create a folder for all of your photos or maybe you have a large website so you could create a separate folder for each section of the website. Enter a name for your new folder and any descriptive tags you wish to add, and then click the create button. The folder will then be created in your File Manager. You can then move, copy or upload files into this folder.

Uploader

Edit

Takes you into the appropriate editor to make changes to your selected file. If you have chosen to edit an item that cannot be edited in 350pages, you will receive a prompt informing you of this, and you will be offered the opportunity to download the file to your computer so that you can edit it with other suitable software. Click on the Download button if you wish to download the file, otherwise click on Cancel to return to your File Manager. In the List view, you can also edit your file by clicking on the button in the Edit WIP column.

Delete

Deleting a file removes it completely from your File Manager. It cannot be restored, so only use delete if you are absolutely certain that you do not require the file any longer. Select the file by clicking on the checkbox of the file and then click on Delete. Confirm the deletion and the file will be removed. Your File Manager will refresh to show the change. You can delete multiple files by clicking multiple checkboxes before selecting Delete.

Tags

Tags are keywords that you associate with a file. They can describe the content of the file or represent your opinion of it. Adding tags will make it easier for you to search and categorise your files. To edit your tags, click on the checkbox of the file and click on the tags button on the horizontal option bar (In the List view you can click on the tags field of the file). A dialog box will appear for you to enter your tags. Separate each tag with a comma. You can edit tags for a large number of files at once by checking several files and then clicking on the Tags button. Only common tags shared between the selected files will show in the dialog box. When you are happy with your tags, click on the tag button for the changes to take effect.

Copy

Click on the checkbox of the file and then click the Copy option. In the dialog box, you will be able to name your copy and choose the folder where you wish the copy to be stored. Once you are happy with your choices, click the copy button in the box. Your File Manager will automatically refresh to show the change. You can copy multiple files by clicking multiple checkboxes before clicking on Copy. If you choose an already existing filename the new filename will have a number appended to it.

Rename

To rename a file, click on the checkbox of the file, and then click Rename. In the dialog box, type in the new name of the file, and then click Rename. Your File Manager will automatically refresh to show the change. You can rename multiple files by clicking multiple checkboxes before clicking on Rename. A rename may not always work as expected if you choose an existing filename or if the filename has illegal characters in it. Please keep in mind that if you rename a file that is already published, anything it is linked to will lose that link. For example if you rename a picture that is on a webpage, the webpage will no longer display this picture and you will need to edit the webpage to replace the image. You can also rename folders.

Move

To move a file, click the checkbox of the file and then click Move. In the dialog box specify the destination folder from a drop down list of all the folders in your File Manager. Once you have chosen the folder, click on the Move button. You can move multiple files by clicking multiple checkboxes then selecting Move. Please keep in mind that if you move a file that is already published, anything it is linked to will lose that link. For example, if you move a picture that is on a webpage, the webpage will no longer display this picture and you will need to edit the webpage to replace the image. You can also move folders.

Publish/Unpublish

Publishing your file will put it live on the web, so that it will be visible by visitors to your website. To publish your file, click on the checkbox of the file and then click on the Publish button. In the dialog box you will be asked for confirmation. Click the Publish button to accept. Another dialog box will appear informing you of the result of the publish together with the web address of your published file. In the List view you can also publish your file by checking the box under the Pub column. To remove a published file from the web, simply check the relevant file and then click on the Unpublish button. As with Publishing, click the Unpublish button in the subsequent dialog box to confirm. In the List view you can also unpublish your file by checking the box under the Pub column.
