If you have this service as part of your Premium or Platinum service, you will need to activate it to start using it. To do this, go to the My Account section, and click on the Services tab. You should see a button marked Activate under the Site Backup service. Click on this and confirm you wish to use the service.
Site Backup will make backups of your site based on a daily, weekly and monthly schedule, providing you have made changes in any of these periods of time. The backups are made as zip files and are stored in a folder in your File Manager called Backup Files. You will notice that this folder is titled in italics. This means it's a system folder and cannot be renamed, moved or deleted - it will also not show any of the content live and on your website. Backups are automatically made in this folder as you make changes.
If you don't make any changes for several months, you will notice that the next time you make a change, only one backup will be produced and stored in your Backup Files folder. This is because the time limit set to keep the backups will have expired. To keep a permanant copy of any backup file, simply move or copy it out of the Backup Files folder.
Your backup files can be opened in any zip file based archive program you have installed on your computer. To restore a page from a backup, please contact our support team who will be able to do this for you.
