Object Properties
|
 |
Object Properties allows you to set a number of additional properties for your objects to add links, borders and padding, align it or make it transparent. You can also float any object so that you can drag and drop it anywhere on your webpage.
For further information about Drag and Drop please click here.
The object properties menu is divided into three different tabs. The options offered will vary dependant upon the type of object.
The Main tab
- Floating
- This allows you to detach an object from its position in the auto-format template so that you can drag and drop it into a new position on the webpage.
- Link Type and Link To
- This drop down menu allows you to set the link to be a webpage or file in your File Manager, or an external web address or email address. If you set either of the latter options, then you will need to enter the web or email address in the Link To box below the drop down menu.
- Open in tab
- If this box is checked, the item set in the Link To menu will open in a new browser window or tab depending on the browser you are using when clicked.
- Align
- This changes the alignment of the object in the same way as the options you have on the object editor bar that you see when you hover over an object.
- Transparency
- This can be set to create a partial or total transparency of the object. It can be set from 0% to 100%.
- Text Color
- Sets the text color of the current object you are editing. Please note that the changes to this setting will not take effect with versions of Internet Explorer 7 or below due to limitations in those browsers.
- Background Color
- Sets the background color of the current object you are editing.
- No Background
- This Will deselect the background color from the object. It's perfect for overlaying objects onto other objects.
The Border tab:
You can place a border on your object. Each of the four sides of the object are represented with the same three options, width, style and color. These can be set individually to specify a different style on each side of your object. The effect is shown by the preview in the center box. To set all sides to be the same, click the All The Same checkbox in the center and then set any one side to the required properties.
Width: Sets the size of the border by number of pixels.
Style: Sets the style of the border from a list of options.
Color: Sets the color of the border, which can be changed by either entering an RGB or hexadecimal figure, or by choosing the Color from the Color editor.
The Padding tab:
You can add some space around the selected object, on one or more sides. This is measured in pixels. To set all sides to be the same, click the All The Same checkbox in the center and then set any one side to the required properties. This is useful if you wish to add some space between and image and text.
